The Lakers won every pre-season game, ending with a 114-113 win over the Phoenix Suns. Ofcourse, this is only the pre-season and it’s typically a time for coaches to experiment with different line-ups and get role players minutes in the rotation while their stars start to ease into the season again. Having said that, there’s a lot to be excited about.
Vogel tried out a few interesting things while LeBron and Anthony Davis rested.
One thing that we know is that their message resonates with many Black Americans and it’s important to understand why that is. In a music video from Jason Gray, the first image that is posted is a Black woman holding a sign that says “I don’t matter.” You would think that this had been created after the Black Lives Matter group had formed in 2013.
For some reason, certain players have elevated their games in the Orlando bubble experience.
Energy continued to be an issue in this game. It’s hard to get amped for a comeback during the game when you’re used to having the crowd cheer you on and energize you.
LeBron and Anthony Davis showed up tonight. As a result of this win, the Lakers clinched the #1 seed in the Western Conference for the first time since the 2009-2010 season(Kobe/Gasol era).
Lakers vs Raptors – 8/1/20 Game highlights – The Raptors exposed a problem early in the game by packing the paint and forcing Anthony Davis to try to score from the perimeter. This defensive effort from the Raptors also forced the rest of the Lakers to try to score from the 3-point territory. Shots weren’t falling, and when you live and die by the 3-ball, it wasn’t pretty to say the least.
